Cece Fein-Hughes has long been captivated by the way art tells stories across centuries. After studying History of Art at Exeter University and working at Christie’s and Sotheby’s, she turned to goldsmithing in 2018. At the British Academy of Jewellery, she discovered enameling, an age-old technique she reimagines for the modern collector.
Cece’s pieces weave historic influences with her own signature style — fairy tales, tattoo motifs, and timeless symbolism emerge in miniature artworks forged by hand in recycled 18K yellow gold. Each jewel is hand-engraved, enameled with fire and glass, then embellished with pearls and star-set diamonds, ensuring no two are ever alike.
Symbolism lies at the heart of her work. Nautical emblems, animal totems, and mythical creatures reflect both her love of bold, vibrant motifs and the stories of her deep-sea diver father and the tales of his underwater adventures. His own tattoos, rich with personal meaning, continue to shape Cece’s storytelling: each piece she creates is a miniature work of art, alive with history, myth, and magic.
