New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, and the GEM Awards Committee have announced they have added a GEM Award for High Jewelry Excellence. The inaugural GEM Award for High Jewelry Excellence will be presented to Gucci at the 21^st annual GEM Awards on Friday, March 17, 2023. The GEM Awards, taking place at Cipriani 42^nd Street in New York City, honors the outstanding achievements of individuals or companies whose work raises the visibility and status of fine jewelry and watches.

The GEM Award for High Jewelry Excellence is awarded to a brand for excellence in high jewelry design. The award is given to a company for a collection or series of collections that increase consumer demand for high jewelry.

In addition to the GEM Award for High Jewelry Excellences, awards will also be given in the categories of Lifetime Achievement, Watch Excellence, Jewelry Design, Media Excellence and Retail Excellence.
