COVID-19 Protocols for GEM Awards
As of March 7, 2022, guests are not required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccine or a negative COVID test to attend GEM Awards. Proof of Vaccination has been required for all employees of Cipriani 42nd Street, Jewelers of America, Parlagreco, Inc., Star Group Productions, and any contractors.These guidelines are issued by the City of New York and are subject to change.
Face Coverings and Safety Measures
GEM Awards follows all guidance provided by the CDC, State of New York, City of New York and works closely with Cipriani 42nd Street to ensure the safety of our guests. As of 9/3/2021 face coverings are not required inside of Cipriani. Guests are encouraged to wear a mask at check in and when not eating or drinking or when unable to maintain social distancing.
Seating configurations may need to be altered and capacity restrictions may affect the number of guests allowed to attend GEM Awards.

COVID-19 SAFETY INFORMATION
Jewelers of America is committed to providing a safe environment for all attendees at GEM Awards. Jewelers of America cannot guarantee that its attendees, volunteers, sponsors, or attendees will not be exposed or become infected with COVID-19. By choosing to attend GEM Awards you are certifying that you will refrain from attending if at the time of the event you fall into any of the following categories:
- Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19
- Individuals who currently or within the past fourteen (14) days have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath, among others.
- Individuals who believe that they may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities or the health care team responsible for their treatment.
Attendees agree to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
Attendees agree to comply with all COVID-related protocols that have or may be implemented by Jewelers of America, GEM Awards and Cipriani, including, but not limited to:
- Encouraging increased sanitization and hygiene
- Wearing of face coverings if necessary
- Following social distancing requests, including modified seating if necessary
The safety standards and procedures that have or may be implemented are intended to protect as much as possible the health and safety of all event attendees.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RELEASE
Attendee assumes all risks and accepts sole responsibility for any injury (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that attendee may experience or incur in connection with attending the event. Attendee hereby releases, covenants not to sue, discharges, and holds harmless Jewelers of America, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from any such claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs, or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. Specifically relating to the global COVID-19 pandemic, attendee acknowledges the highly contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assumes the risk of exposure or infection by attending the event, and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, disability, and/or death to attendee. Attendee understands that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the event may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of others who may attend the event or their families, colleagues, or others with whom they may have contact. Accordingly, attendee understands and agrees that this release includes any claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Jewelers of America, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in the event.
