Stephen Lussier is Chairman of De Beers Jewellers and De Beers Forevermark. Executive Vice-President, Brands & Consumer Markets, De Beers Group, and a member of De Beers Group’s Executive Committee. Chairman of the Natural Diamond Council and a Board Director of the Responsible Jewellery Council.

A graduate of Boston College, Stephen joined De Beers advertising agency N.W. Ayer in New York after gaining his MBA from Columbia University. After working for N.W. Ayer, Stephen joined De Beers Group’s Consumer Marketing Division in London in 1985 as the Market Controller for the US and Canada. He then served as Market Controller for Japan from 1989 to 1991 and Regional Director for Asia Pacific from 1991 to 1993, before being appointed Director of De Beers Group’s Consumer Marketing Division in 1993, where he oversaw the launch of diamond marketing into the China & India markets.

Stephen was appointed as a DTC (Diamond Trading Company) Director in 1995 and joined the DTC Executive Committee in 2002. In 2005 he was appointed to De Beers Group’s Executive Committee with responsibility for External and Corporate Affairs. 

Stephen returned to the consumer marketing world, taking up the role of Chief Executive Officer, Forevermark and Executive Vice President – Marketing, De Beers Group, in 2009. He was also appointed Chairman of the Natural Diamond Council in 2015.

Since taking on the role of CEO at Forevermark, Stephen Lussier has seen Forevermark grow into a truly global brand. Forevermark is present in 35 markets, with more than 2,400+ retail stores across five continents.

In April 2019, Stephen stepped away from his role as CEO of Forevermark, to increase his focus on shaping De Beers Group’s strategy at the consumer level in his role as Executive Vice-President of Brands & Consumer Markets with accountability for all De Beers downstream activities.
